Pro 34 - Just ruined a rack of ribs for temp issues

First time the is smoker’s been fired up. Cooking the 3-2-1 ribs from the Traeger site recipe. My temp set at 225 degrees fluctuated from 180 t0 285 before it completely shut off. Pretty much ruined the ribs..... Anyone have some words of wisdom?

I don’t believe it has firmware does it? Don’t believe it is Wi-Fi capable... If I’m ignorant please advise....How do I determine?

Ah my bad, I was looking at the grill in your profile (Pro 780). Not sure what could be going on. The Pro 34 has been a solid grill from my understanding.
