Hello from south Mississippi! We love to cook outdoors whether it’s frying fish or campfire cooking. We upgraded our electric Masterbuilt smoker to the Traeger Pro 34 series. First few smokes we realized there is definitely a learning curve but hopeful to learn from this forum to get the results we want.

Welcome! Great bunch of folks on here with a mass of great information. You probably figured out that pellet grills don’t come close to putting out enough smoke flavor. I use smoke tubes to get the smoke I can live with, not as good as I get from my BGE but it’s good. I really like the ease of use with my Traeger, I set it and forget it, easy. You’ll find that the pit temperature is not going off and the cooking temperature will vary up and down, the meat probes that come with it are junk. But a decent third party thermometer and you’ll be fine. I use a couple of MEATER probes and they work well. You can enter keywords in the search feature on here and get tons of information.
