Hi All,
I have been looking at the Traegers for a number of years and finally purchased a Traeger Pro 22 (Gen 1) So this is an older design but still new. I still need to do the initial seasoning before my first cook. I also have a Weber Genesis Gas Grill and a Lange 36 inch stick burner. I am looking forward to adding the Traeger to my my line up.

I really enjoy smoking on my Lange but it is big, almost 900 sq. inches of grill space so when I use it I load it up with a number of meats to get my money's worth out of the heat and smoke. I bought the Traeger hoping to get some of that same flavor on small meals for just my wife and myself.

I am looking forward to learning from the group here.

WELCOME,
I bought the Traeger hoping to get some of that same flavor on small meals for just my wife and myself.

You won't get the same flavor as on a Lang, but that's because the Traeger burns only wood pellets, not even if you only burn wood on your Lang.
BUT, you can still get GREAT smoke flavor, great smoke ring, and very tender meat on your Traeger.

My New Traeger Does Not Put Out The Smoke I Was Expecting!!

Welcome to the forum!

I do wanna see a pic of your Lang tho...

Normally it is in the backyard but we have a big block party on the forth of July so it was out front in this picture.

Lovin it Chet!!!!

Best reverse flow smokers ever....

That looks to be a perfect size. Thanks for sharing the pics of it. I need more patio space before I can even start dreaming of something like that.
You won't be getting anywhere near the smoke flavor from any pellet grill, regardless of brand.

Welcome to the forum!

Chet, a smoke tube is gonna be your friend on your Traeger

I wasn't expecting the same thing from the Traeger that I get from the Lange there kind of different animals, but having said that I did my first steak tonight and I am more then happy with the results I got on the Traeger. Especially considering I didn't do anything special, just seasoned it some and threw it on the grill. Just really wanted to take it for a test drive.
