Hello, all! I’ve been a Traeger owner for several years, but just recently stumbled upon this site...and I’m so thankful I did! This place is a treasure trove of info and insights!

I bought my first Traeger (a Pro22) several years ago and just recently sold it so that I could upgrade (at least I thought) to an Ironwood 885. Now, I’m having second thoughts and wanted to see if I might could get some wisdom from the community. Here’s my dilemma: I love the new features on the IW885 but I’ve also seen that Costco has the Texas Elite 34’s for $599. I am very tempted to buy 2 of them, allowing me to do multiple smokes at different temps if needed. Of course, if I go that route, I miss out on all the newer features of the IW885.

I’d love any feedback you guys have!

Welcome! Having 2 Traegers is always better than 1. LOL.

I have the old Costco Century 22 and the Ironwood 885. I've used both a the same time and sometimes I'll the Ironwood prepped for an overnight cook, so I'll use the Century 22 to cook dinner. Very handy indeed.

Thanks for the feedback! In your opinion, do the features of the IW make it worth starting there and attempting to add a second later or has the space/multiple temps been more valuable to you?

The Ironwood's real value is the height if you want to cook large items or really use the 2 shelf system. The 34's will give you loads of horizontal space, but not the height. The WiFire is pretty cool being able to check and adjust temps while out and about too.

Super helpful! Hadn’t thought too much about the height factor but that‘s a great point! Thanks again!

My wife was surprisingly open to the idea of two…however, if I was to get a third Traeger I would probably have to find a second wife! 😂
