I usually do several recipes of Chex mix around the holidays, this year I decided to use the T.
Automatic plus, I can use a large pan and run two batches at once.
My recipe is essentially what is on the box, I just double all of the sauce ingredients, and add in black pepper, hot sauce, chili powder, and extra Worcestershire. I also substitute cashews for peanuts, and I don’t use the hard garlic bites. The extra garlic powder covers that omission well.
I can definitely smell the smoke on the finished product, and there is a light taste of it. I may use hickory pellets in the future to see if that increases the smoke flavor.
All in all, a good experiment.
