Simple Mod - Extended Traeger Power Cord

I bought a 14 gauge plug x 10ft. Much more heavy duty than factory supplied and a bit longer.

You read my mind! These are standard Computer/Server power cords. I was digging through all my old computer cables to find a longer one. All I need is a just a couple more feet!!! GRR

haha. Yeah, Traeger could have spent a few more bucks to include a longer power cord. I have mine hooked up to a nice heavy duty 15ft extension cord.

The Traeger uses very little power, so heavy duty cords aren't really needed. I swapped out my cord for an 18ga 15ft version for $8, nice and light, easy to coil up into the holder. Got it on Amazon, after 1 year it's still like new, I do keep my grill covered outside.

Thanks RemE. Something chewed through my original cord, and after wracking my brain over this I saw your post. Mine arrived yesterday, now connects directly to the outlet in my garden, no more extension cord needed. I bought some 1" flexible slotted conduit at Ace HW to protect this new cord, we'll see how it goes.
