Just did my first steaks on the Traeger, and wow! Steak is something I have always done well, but to use a baseball analogy, I feel like I have been playing minor league ball my entire grilling career and just now made it to ‘The Show.’
1 & 3/4 inch NY Strips, probably better than 18oz each, seasoned with kosher salt and cracked peppercorns.
225 for 45 minutes, then cranked it to high, waited till temp read 440, then put them back on, and monitored till probe read 130. Let them rest for 10 minutes, then I consumed the best steak I have ever had. So tender & juicy, and the flavor!
