We are prepping for Thanksgiving and we decided to try a few items on the Traeger this year. First item up was some good ol fashion Pecan Pie. This would be are first pie in the Traeger, so no idea what to expect.
Here's the recipe we used:
Pecan Pie
1 cup Karo Dark Corn Syrup
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp, butter, melted
1 tsp vannilla extract
1-1/12 cups of pecans (only Texas fresh pecans in my house!)
1 9-inch deep pie crust.
Very simple, mix everything together and pour it into the pie crust.
Preheated the Traeger to 350 degrees and waited another 10 minutes to let it settle down. (I guess mine takes an extra few minutes to get into the zone, ha)
60 mins later and with the center of the pie reaching 200 degrees, here is the result.
It's suppose to cool for 2 hours. I'll be sure to post the results up after we dig in.
