I have been convinced I need a temperature probe. I am leaning towards the Fireboard. I have a Traeger 885 Ironwood. The question I want to ask is do I need the drive blower? Doesn’t the grill already do this?

Yes, the grill already does this so no, you don't need a blower!

That option is for grills such as the Big Green Egg and others that don't already have a fan.

You don't need the drive blower. The Traeger controller is responsible for the fan. Traeger does a good job at holding the temp, but the Fireboard will give you a better idea what the temp really is.

Where does one find a link for 50 off on the Inkbird? I tried the Traeger probe last night and it must have been reading high as my tenderloin was not done.

It was an Amazon deal that is apparently no longer available. But is still marked down to $65 which is a good deal. Meat ambient and my meat probe both read high as well.

My local Tractor Supply only had galvanized. Haven’t made it to HD yet.

but I wonder if something like this could be used. It’s stainless......thoughts?
