Hello, just purchased my first traeger! Got the timberline 850. Question about the wifire and traeger app? I have an android phone. I got hooked up to the wifi and the app runs great but how do I use the app when I'm let's say at the grocery store to check on the grill? Once I'm away from the home wifi it says not connected...I thought you could adjust the settings on the grill from anywhere!? Thanks for any input

Welcome! It will connect over cellular

You need to have cellular data on and an internet connection. If you can get the news and weather, you should be able to contact your grill.

Oh, and the power has to be on at the grill . . .

Your grill connects to the Traeger server over wifi. When you are away using the app on the iPhone, it connects to the Traeger server as well to fetch the information about your grill. It works well!
