Hey everyone. I just logged in for the first time. We also did our test burn on the new Pro 780 last night. Of course followed by a Tri-Tip.

We live in Dilworth, MN on the good side of the river from Fargo, ND. I'm looking forward to hearing more tips and tricks here.
 
Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the new Traeger. How did the Tri-Tip come out?
 
I think we may use the Traeger for smoke to start and the immersion cooker to get it to temp properly. As it will break it down a bit to get more tender. Tri-tip is best that way. Then sear it on the Weber or Traeger after. The pellet grill is not the best way to tenderize tri-tip. It was cooked to a perfect temp, but had a jerky texture on the outside.

We will learn to sear properly with practice.
