Looking for some advice - I recently got a new flatrock and forgot to wash the griddle before seasoning it. It was heated really well before seasoning and now has 5-6 layers of seasoning on it. Wondering if I should wash and start all over again or don't worry about it and keep cooking. Just worried about any chemicals that might get in our food. TIA.

I do not know what Traeger uses to protect the griddle from corrosion during transit, but I would assume it is an edible vegetable oil. As long as the griddle was on high during the seasoning process and you used a high smoke point oil for seasoning, you should be OK.

Thanks for the response. I ended up washing it :) and re-season it.
