Ironwood 885
I am new to pellet cooking and have a new ironwood 885. Even on super smoke settings, I get low to no smoke coming from the unit. 225, traeger brand pellets. I was expecting every few minutes or so a plume....but nearly nothing. Temp control is always spot on.

As a novice, I feel I am missing something obvious. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Paul

Try setting it to 180F. I usually smoke at 180F to 200F. At this temp, the smoke comes on and off every minute or so.

Interesting. On it - adjusting my cook cycle now. Thanks for the lead

I found a way to keep the smoke in the cooking chamber longer, take off the chimney cap and remove the nut on the underside off of the screw, then put the cap back on and tighten so the cap is tight against the top of the chimney stopping the draft, this will allow the smoke to roll around the cooking chamber before it finds its way out around the door, to keep even more smoke in put wood stove door seal around the smoker door.
