BBQ 100
I'm and old time Traeger user (both me and the Traeger are old) If there are any other old timers here, I'm looking for suggestions on getting more heat out of my BBQ 100 model. I've had it 20 yeras or so and love it, it's reliable and has never let me down.

However, it's never been able to get over 350-375'. This is not an issue for 95% of the cooking I do, but it won't do anything that requires some heat.

Any ideas as to why it won't get hotter (it never has in my memory) or how to produce higher temps?

Thanks in advance

Which controller does it have? You might be able to get it above 400 with the HIGH setting if you get the Digital Pro Controller.

You can probably find it cheaper elsewhere (I've seen them selling in the $60-80 range) but sending the link just so you can see the specs.

I have the early version digital display control. I did add it after I got the grill.

Maybe try to add some LavaLock on the lid to try to keep as much heat inside as possible? Replacing the temp probe might be an option as well.

Do you have any non-Traeger temp probes that you can use to double check the temperature inside the grill? The displayed temp and the actual temp can vary quite a bit.

This unit does not have a conventional lid, it has the roll top desk style oven front
I have a manual thermo mounted on the top/right of the grill. It reads within 10° or so of what the digital says
