I started smoking food about 6 years ago. I started on a $150 off set. Being on the forum for a while, i get the feeling there are some members that have been doing it for a while. And have great experience, and know what they are doing. I appreciate that knowledge.

About 4 years of Traeger experience for me. Before Traeger, I think I was just goofing off with gas. I am much better than I was 5 years ago (according to my wife ?)

Bought a cheap offset around 4 years ago, couldn't stand the amount of attention it required. Bought a Pro22 which didn't work out that good so it was sold and now I am very happy with my Pro 575.

Gas BBQs for at least 30 years, then added a Traeger almost 10 years ago, Junior Elite, now Timberline. But I've learned much more in the last year from this group!

Started grilling in 1973 when I was 11 years old and my dad bought his first gas grill.

Been smoking/grilling/baking on the Big Green Egg since 2003.

Been Traegering since 2011 when I bought my first Traeger (A Traeger Jr.) during a severe drought in Texas. I had a wood deck back then and was concerned an errant ember might escape and fall through the deck then light it up and take my house and the neighborhood with it.

Since then I have perfected my brisket & pulled pork on the Traeger, but there is still something about searing a Tomahawk ribeye over an open flame. Nothing like a steak with a handle.
