Hey all,

I am new to using my Traeger Pro 575.

Today I have been trying to use the 'custom' recipes to cook a chicken.

I load the recipe on the ap - select 'MAKE NOW', it loads, and I hit IGNITE.

It seems to preheat, and a 15-minute countdown automatically starts, but as soon as the 15 minutes is up, the recipe disappears, and the temperature preset drops to 75 degrees.

From then on, it stays stuck on step 2 and I have no idea what is happening.

Am I doing something wrong here ??

It still says 'WHOLE CHICKEN' on the control screen but I can't seem to move past STEP 2.

Is the grill meant to keep rolling through the steps accordingly?

Especially Poultry!!! Use Traeger recipes as a guide but setting your grill up to follow one is asking for trouble... cook your chicken to 165° IT.

Certainly, appreciate that it was more so the synchronisation between the ap and the grill I was asking about? Does it normally follow the steps or am I just imagining it? Or being lazy lol

I tried using the app-controlled recipes as well and found that they go to the next step too early, even if the meat isn't up to temp. I am not sure there's a way too pause them or cancel as needed, so I do the same as the others in that I use it as a guide, but set temps/time using the app, but w/o letting it control the grill.

What everyone else says: Use the app as a guide, but do the cook manually. After using the Traeger temp probe a couple of times I followed others' advice and purchased an after market set and like it much better. Something you might take a look at.
