I'm iced in here in Austin, but it still does not stop me of thinking about BBQ and since today is Valentines Day, I'll post a pic from a MJB BBQ & Catering in Wellsvile, OH.

Nice job MJB!

Dang, that looks awesome! This weather here in Texas is just crazy! Just soup and a fire for us tonight.

I agree...To cold to cook, so we just grabbed some tasty leftovers out of the freezer...

Valentines day in Melbourne, Australia, was a disaster for the flowers shops. We went into a 5 day lockdown because of you know who. No travelling more that 3 miles from your home and the only shops open were supermarkets, drug stores and of course liquor. And to rub it in to you Texans, it will be 90F here today, you guys are really copping a cold chill.

Yeah, and to make matters worse, we just got a notice of a broken water main, and they are saying we have to boil our water until Sunday...Sheeeeesh

what part of TX? Sounds like Austin is out of water. My daughter was told to boil water but it’s hard with an electric stove and no power!

I’m west of Fort Worth, and a few miles south of Mineral Wells...we built a home right in the middle of 500 acres....
Luckily, we still have power, but we also have propane as a backup, and a big ol Lopi wood stove instead of a fireplace.

I feel sorry for everyone experiencing the cold. Especially those enduring rolling blackouts. No one deserves to have to go through that. The next issue will be the struggle to pay the bills for that electricity. I think I read there was tier pricing, and the costs were exponentially more than the normal consumption rates.
To those supporting the green initiatives, I am not sure we are ready for an electric car in every driveway. Infrastructure is just not there for it. Careful on putting the cart before the horse in converting the globe to electric. Not saying electric doesn't have a place. It just isn't a total replacement at this point in time
