Can someone help me understand the differences between these two grills?

Home Depot has a pro 22 and lists the useable space as 418sq inches

Costco has the Mesa 22 and lists the useable space as 520sq inches

They look like the same grill; and I’ve read that folks thought the pro 22 was better but more expensive than the mesa. Here the mesa is more expensive so I’m not sure if folks were talking about an older version.

I’m completely new to grilling but am interested in a pellet grill. I’ll be cooking on a wood deck that is not ground level and I figure the pellet grill is the safest option (if I’m wrong please tell me).

Thank you

It is best to examine the grills in person. Costco grills often have more "features" than the brand name grills, but Traeger often cuts some corners in design to meet the Costco price point.

The Home Depot offer is a special buy. I do not know if this is an older model or they just cut a deal with Traeger.

If you have space and can afford the larger 34" grill, I highly recommend doing so. Also, if you can afford to do so, you will find models with the D2 controller to be a significant upgrade.
