I have a Traeger 075 I purchased new 11 years ago. Recently had the controller quit so I upgraded to the new "Blue" controller with the probe ports. While I was replacing it I decided to replace the hot rod and temperature probe since I had them already to be used as spares. Now I'm having an issue with the auger. It continues to feed pellets no matter what I set the temperature at. It eventually fills the fire pot and snuffs out the fire. When I called Traeger support, they tried to tell me the controller was bad. I told them they just sent me a new one and I asked if it might be defective. They told me it couldn't be since it was new. What? They then proceeded to tell me the temperature probe was bad. I told them I had just installed a brand new I had gotten from them. He told me it might still be bad. What? I asked him how it could possibly be bad even though it was brand new and purchased from them however the new controller I had just received from them couldn't be bad. Silence on the other end. I've had many issues with Traeger support through the years! When this smoker finally smokes it's last butt, I'm done with Traeger. However, in the meantime I want to keep this thing going as long as I can! Love my pork pulled and meat rubbed! LOL Any thoughts on why the auger keeps running?

The probes seem to be sensitive to being knocked around. After a year of using my Traeger, if I touched the probe in the slightest way, it would cause all kinds of weird issues. The probe may of somehow got damaged from the time you received it to the time you installed it. I'm now very mindful when removing the main cooking grate and the upper grate for cleaning. It's very easy to hit the probe.
