adding new grill to new app

I have finally been able to add a grill to the new app on my iPhone. Once added is the phone only connected to your house wifi or is it supposed to also show a connection to the traeger access point in settings? I was able to join the traeger access point and download the files and certificates with no errors. hope this makes sense...
