Smoking a complete 13lb turkey and an 8 lb “bone in” breast for Thanksgiving. Just not sure when or at what temperature to add the breast only into the equation. I usually would start off at 225 and cook until temp hits 110 or so and then crank it up to 325 until it hits 160. That’s great if I was using two similar sized birds, but I’m not. Any help would be appreciated. Also am approximate cook time would be great so that I can get them done sometime around dinner. Thanks again for any help that you could give !!

I like to remove the 2 breasts/debone then you have a turkey lobe/breast… Plenty of videos on youtube… Anymore it’s about the only way i will smoke a turkey breast. I do brine my individual breast in pickle juice 5-6 hrs… rinse off and pat dry… Inject with creole butter then i use duck fat spray for a binder then apply your rub. You can also use Duke mayo for a binder. Make sure to remove the skin from the breast…

As long as the two birds are separated by an inch or two, one will not affect the other. Plan your cook based on the larger bird. The smaller breast will be done much earlier. Just cook to internal temp of 165F.
