Traeger has the best customer service, I have called them 3 different times for problems, they answer phone instantly, they send you an link so they can view the Traeger via your Iphone and see what the problem is, and I will have the part within a week, and they sent a video link on how to repair. I am still under warranty after 2 years. UPDATE Customer Service said I would get it by next weekend, possibly earlier. I got the probe today, 2 days after I called.(y)

I have (fortunately) not had to call them, but this is a consistent theme about their customer service.

Hit and miss for me. Sometimes you get someone at the HQ other times it's an off shore site.

This is my second Traeger. The 575 has been problematic since I purchased it a couple of years ago. When the weather is cool here in California, the unit has no problem running @ 165 +/- 10 degrees or so. However, when it gets above 80, the unit runs around 200 degrees even though the temperature is set to 165. I have talked to customer service a number of times ….seems to be a known problem with the 575. This week it is near 90 ….so I tried an experiment. I set up a fan to blow at the 575. Without the fan, temp ran near 200, but with the fan, the temp held at a satisfactory level. This is an FYI, in case it might help others. No response is necessary.

Sun shining on our Traeger 575 tends to raise the temperature, so being in the shade definitely makes a difference especially at lower temp cooks.

You have to remember, much like a car, if it is 90 degrees outside in the sun it is probably close to 140 degrees inside of your grill without a fire going. It is hard to light a fire in those temps and keep it below 200 degrees. All the fan blowing is doing is lowering the ambient temp in the grill. I am not sure I would say it's a common problem with the 575. Any grill on the earth is going to have a hard time staying at 160 degrees if it is over 100 degrees in the grill before it is even lit.

I’m glad you had good service with the customer service group but my parents experience has been totally the opposite. My parents are 85 and 87 and their grill has never worked since purchasing the grill. It had an error code, my parents called customer service, who expected Folks in their mid 80s to take apart the grill while doing a video chat …. Ridiculous!!
I am now on the eve and trying to get the grill working for my parents and contacting customer service. Who said they cannot get anyone to service the grill, but will send a part out which will do no good as I am heading back as I am in the military so now this brand new grill will continue to sit as the makers of the grill do not stand by their product.

I used to work as a field customer service representative for a large paper company. I always said that buying from a company that makes great products is wonderful, but purchasing from a company that knows how to respond appropriately to occasional problems is even better.

Correct. Never do low and slow in sunlight, except maybe on a crisp fall or winter day. Keep the grill under a tree or overhang.

How is Traeger not standing behind their product? The company is trying to fix the issue by sending out a replacement part. What else do you expect them to do?

Dunder Mifflin?

😁😁😁 That’s a reference to “The Office”for those wondering…

No, Dunder Mifflin was a fictional offices supplies vendor who purchased office supplies from manufacturers and distributed them to individual offices or small to medium sized printers. We called them paper merchants. They sold paper a few rolls or a few cartons at a time with a truckload order being considered a large order.

I retired from the largest paper company in the world with over $21 billion dollars in sales in 2022. Some of my larger customers used a truckload or more of paper per day. Some even purchased paper by the rail car load.
