Traeger BBQ-75.02
I am new to this forum, I have a Traeger BBQ075.02 smoker and I am having a difficult time in keeping the fire going and the heat consistent! I have checked the two fans, auger, fire pit, fire starter, airflow, smokestack, replaced pellets, and cleaned the thermostat, but still the fire goes out at low temperatures and fluctuates over a 50 degree range. I have tried to contact customer support numerous times with no resolution. They were supposed to send me an email for more information, but failed to do so. When I last called, the recording said my wait would be 45 minutes to 1 hour, so I elected to have them call back, they did, an hour later at which time I did not have the serial number handy. The lady said she could do nothing without the serial number, she could not locate my model number(?), so said she would email me and I could supply my serial number and we would go from there........that was 3 days ago, I am still waiting!! I am VERY disappointed in the customer service from Traeger! This was the second time that I have tried to contact them about the same problem!!

The Traeger BBQ075 was discontinued in 2020-21. It is rumored that the reason for the discontinued model was a design flaw that caused flameouts. It sounds exactly liked this is what is happening to your grill. The grill came with a 3 year limited warranty. Since your grill is more than 3 years old, it is no longer under warranty. As such, customer service is not motivated to resolve your issue.

How long have you owned the grill? Are you the original owner?

Yes, I am the original owner, I am not sure how long I have owned the grill, probably 5 or 6 years. How can I remedy this problem? Do they sell an upgrade kit?? Customer service is absolutely no help so far!!

Home Depot and a few other stores have had the Pro 22's on sale for $349-389. Might be worth looking into something like that as well. No guarantees that spending $100 on a replacement parts kit will fix whatever the issue is.

I agree, might be throwing good money after bad.

Amazon currently has it listed for $389 with free shipping for Prime members:

With Prime Day deals coming up next month, there’s a good chance it might drop even lower.

Welcome @Gary Towers 🍻

Is this a new problem or something you've always had?

Grillpartsreplacement has entire replacement kit:
Actually, I bought the grill a couple of years ago and only used it once or twice for a shorter period of time. My travel schedule prevented me from using it as I had planned. We recently redid our patio and I tried to cook ribs on it and it was a disaster, had to finish them on another grill. A couple of weeks later, I tried a brisket and it too was a disaster, had to finish it on another grill!! Spent a LOT of money for this grill, so I checked everything out and it seemed to be working correctly, so I contacted Traeger customer support, once, twice, three times, all ended in very unsatisfactory contacts and my grill is still not working, the customer support would not even listen to my trouble shooting comments! I am frustrated because this grill would be perfect for my briskets that I am great at cooking, but it will not perform. The replacement parts do not include a controller, that could be a part of the problem couldn't it?? If you replace everything else, you just as well should replace the controller shouldn't you??
Thanks,
Gary

The parts kit listed is for the BBQ75.01. You indicated that you have version 02. I have no idea what the differences might be between 01 and 02. The parts might fit...or not.

Since the BBQ75 was discontinued during 2012-22 and you purchased it "a couple of years ago" then you purchased a model that had already been discontinued. Hopefully, you purchased it at a clearance price.

Glad to hear that you were able to reach support and that they were able to help you. Please share more details if their fix works. Just in case someone else reading the forums has a similar issue someday.

Finally figured out that it was the controller, getting a new controller and will see if that solves the problem! Got one from Traeger as have heard some of the aftermarket controllers sold by other sources have not been reliable!

Let's get this fixed for you.
You said it was an 075 texas.
Does it have the elite red screen controller or the blue screen pro controller?

I could also walk you thru a few other issues if you want to call me directly.
I actually pick up the phone. Lol

Mine is called a Texas Elite, the only difference I can see is the Elite had a (gold /Copper colored lid). The controller was replaced by Traeger many years ago when it failed early and looks like the picture attached. The later model Texas grills had two temp probes, mine has none and my controller readout is red. Mine is still working well, but that being said I only smoke low and slow, I have a charcoal grill for high temp stuff. I have no reason to upgrade, it works well and all the parts can be replaced at a reasonable cost. Keep it clean and it should last for a long time.

If your grill keeps going out on smoke I would look next at the fan and the firepot
