G'day I've got a traeger given to me by my brother from US.
the controller is no good ( self diagnose).
And currently I'm in Australia do have to use a 240v to 120v conversion.
Can I buy a 240v controller and use it? Without the conversion?.
I'd like to not use the conversion and have temp in °Celsius.
Any advice welcome 🙏
Cheers Andy

In the USA, the Fahrenheit scale is typically used for temperature reporting, but Celsius is also used. The controller on the Traeger grill has a menu item that allows you to select F/C readings. That is also a common feature of most digital thermometers. Even some analog thermometers have dual scales.

This duality exists with many measurements. A measuring cup often shows measurements both in ounces and milliliters. Weights may be given in ounces and grams.

Since electronic devices operate at low voltage, the power supplies sometimes have a switch that will allow usage with both 110-120V and 230-240V. However, I have not looked at the circuit diagram of the Traeger controller to see how it is wired. Since Traeger sells devices in AU, they have provisions for voltage differences.

The other issue is WiFi channels in the 2.4 gHz frequency band if you get a Wire-Fire controller. In the USA and Canada only channels 1-11 are authorized. In most other parts of the world, channels 1-13 are authorized. I presume the AU version would support the wider frequency range.
