Hi all,
Like many of you, I've tried following the advice regarding the connection issue, I'm still unable to connect my SIlverton 620 to WFfire. When attempting to connect through the app, it my grill is able to briefly connect to my home wifi (created separate 2.4 channel for grill) but when downloading files, it loses connection and says "error downloading certificates". I've tried multiple grill/app resets and power cycles, but that don't help. The only glimmer of hope is that under "Wifi Information" screen, it shows "WiFIRE Acess Point DEVICE CONNECTED TO Traeger-1234". Any advice would be appreciated. Currently, my SIlverton 620 is running SW Ver: c2.00.00 and Config Ver: 10.003 (both outdated according to https://www.traegergrills.com/status). Thanks in advance!

Firmware version 2.00.00 is the problem - that is the January 2020 Update release version and is known to have multiple issues, the primary one being that for many, they are never able to successfully complete the setup process ... you need to contact Traeger Support and firmly request a replacement controller be sent to you with a minimum of Firmware version 2.00.01 ...

Be aware that Traeger has been sending out replacement controller boards as of late to some folks with the exact same version they had running on the board that was due to be replaced, thus not resolving anything ... I have chatted with 2 people in the past 24 Hours who received replacement controller boards that had KNOWN obsolete Firmware installed on them ... and when the Firmware is obsolete, the App & Traeger Cloud back-end will not successfully complete the setup process, thus eliminating the possibility of getting a Firmware Update installed ... recycling "fixed" controller boards is to be expected, but Traeger has to at least update them to a confirmed/supported version level before sending them out as replacement controller boards ...

Thank you for your help! Figured that was the case based off all your other helpful responses. Luckily, I was able to get them to send a new controller after only 2 calls and 1.5 hrs.

It's not just you. I spent 2 hours on the phone yesterday with a tech person from Traeger and we never could connet the Wifire. I honestly don't know why in the world Traeger thinks this is a good idea. They need to stick to what they do best - grills - and forget trying to be something they aren't (a computer). Now I have to wait 2 weeks for them to send me a new controller to see if that helps me connect to Wifire. Until then, I guess I can use the grill as a grill but it can't update to the latest software until the new part comes in. This is mind-numbing experience.

If you're lucky enough to get a WiFIRE Controller with the correct Firmware pre-installed from the onset (... which changes over time as they continually update the App & Traeger Cloud back-end, thus inadvertently obsoleting older Firmware versions along the way ...), and can get it successfully connected and updated, it really is a nice feature ...

But the pain they are putting a subset of customers through for their inadequate DEV / QA / QC processes + generally inferior Customer Service, is damaging their "brand" ... for an unknown period of time, it is death by 1000s of pinpricks, before it will reach a tipping point, and they've done serious long-term damage to their bottom line ...

Here's to hoping they get this figured out soon, and July -> forward is a different story ...

You're right. I have a very bad taste in my mouth right now (and it's not because I haven't had any success grilling something)! I suspect that because of this wifire issue, my first attempt at grilling wasn't successful because the temperatures were inaccurate. I suspect I got a lemon and in all honesty, Traeger has not bent over backwards to make this right. Their customer service is very incompetent - this whole experience has left me wondering if I made a huge and expensive mistake. I know I'll never recommend the product to anyone.
