problem with Ironwood 885

I'm a owner of a Ironwood 885 . I've been having one problem with my smoker , I'm not get satisfaction from support , they keep reading a script ,been on many video calls, as if you look up my account you will see I've been calling in about the same thing for about 1 1/2 years . I do believe 6 or 7 times that I called in ,that is not counting on the times I did not call in. The problem is not the time , it happens periodically . when I start it up it gets about up to temp then the temp drops drastically . for instance ill set it to 500 degrees and it will drop less then 200 degrees .and yes I do get Error code. and the first time I call in they sent me a new probe. It did not help. on Easter Sunday I set it to 225 degrees got up to 196 then went down to 133 degrees . I called in a someone answered .( thanks you very much for having staff working on a holiday.) not getting much help from him , then I askes to talk to a supervisor then I talked to a female who said she was a supervisor no help from her , (everyone I talk to is so nice) she told me she was going to have someone call me Wednesday day at 5:00pm .no one called .I called back on Thursday this person told me they would they would send me a E-Mail with a reference number and a specialist would look at the problem . so when I call back and tell the person the reference number and see what the specialist said , No E-mail , then on Thursday April 21 at 8:05 am, I got a notification of a bad probe the grill was not being used . I love the smoker just looking to get a help fixing this situation .
 
I don’t have an answer, but I am having a hard time reading your post.

Is this close to what you’re saying?
  • Ironwood 885
  • (Problem periodically) for about 1 ½ years
  • Start it up it gets about up to temp then the temp drops drastically
  • Example, set it to 500 degrees and it will drop to less than 200 degrees
  • I get an error code
  • They sent me a new probe…. It did not help
 
I would never depend on a Traeger probe as they are not accurate or dependable. I tossed mine went with a fireboard.

BTW, only deal with Traeger support via FaceBook Messenger. It's quick and there is a trail of what they said.
