Problem with Fireboard 2 Drive and their customer service.

I have been nothing but happy with my FB2 and their CS. Though I am thinking there is a manufacturing issue, in 8 months I have had 3 units. all with different failure modes. However with all of them the CS has been outstanding and quick...
A premium Company to work with that values their customers.

They are made in the US, but the electronic components are more than likely sourced offshore.
Nice to see and hear that they are standing behind their product

That's a lot of fails, would you mind describing them?

Mine's been solid but it's nice to know what to look out for.

#1 - the insert liners for the probes slid back into the case, so the probe receptacles were to large for the Probe plugs
#2 - The display would shut off and not come back on, you had to drain the battery to get it to come back, it also kept turning it self on. so the battery was always low, to use it at all it had to be plugged in.
#3 - The screen flashed to light gray and the unit went into a reboot loop and never came out.

In all cases the FB CS team was outstanding, and replaced the unit no questions asked, then even paid for the shipping both way's.
While there may be a manufacturing issue, the FB is a quality product that the company stands behind...

Sounds like you were on the beta team... You know, the customer who pays up front to be an early adopter. It's good that they stepped up though, but for the aggravation and time helping them, you should have been comp'ed IMHO.

Got to love free swag. Glad they took care of you. This site does a ton of Fireboard promoting. You'd think we were all on their payroll

I think someone should reach out about getting us a “Forum Discount” for putting them on as a sponsor or something. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Gulp, I'm an early FB2 user. I keep mine in a ziploc, in my grilling accy box, indoors when not in use. Fingers crossed, good so far.

I keep mine outside in the Outdoor Kitchen, but in a waterproof bin inside a cabinet along with my Sonos speakers for BBQ tunes.

Traeger's probes are the best marketing Fireboard Labs can have.
I don't know if they could sponsor here, they are the controller and probe supplier for Yoder smokers. Could be a conflict of interest 🤔

Back on March 8th, my Fireboard 2 Drive's screen went all wonky. See below. I sent this to them and they replied a couple days later thanking me for sending the video and that they will have the developers look into it. They then emailed back a short time later on March 10th asking me to fire it up as they had it set to push an extensive log file to them. Well, that was 12 days ago now and still no word even after asking for updates. While I like the product, I'm pretty disappointed with the responsiveness and level of customer support on what is considered the high end of BBQ temperature sensors and controllers.

Perhaps sharing this experience will prod them into action.
I had a very similar issue, only all I got as a gray screen.
FB CS sent me a new one no questions....

I keep mine in the heated garage.

And clean all the probes before the next use.
