Purchased a Flatrock in August. Two weeks ago the control panel cracked. I called Traeger and the new control panel arrived yesterday. Today I installed the new control panel. When I removed the old control panel there were numerous screws that hold the burner controls in place not installed and just flopping around inside the control panel. When I opened the box containing the new control panel I flipped it over and found screws not installed. The missing screws were rolling around inside the box.

I own a Ranger, an Ironwood and now the Flatrock. Traeger’s Quality Control has gone downhill. Based on what I found today I believe the quality is on par with a piece of crap Blackstone.

I called Traeger to discuss the problem but they acted like I was bothering them. Also, the background noise from the reps noisy kids was extremely annoying.

Traeger needs to spot check the parts coming in from their vendors.

Sorry to hear that, you would think with the Flatrock being new on the market it would have better quality. Especially for the price. However my “piece of crap Blackstone” is about 10 years old and I use it more than all my grills and well as my stove, combined and it’s never let me down and cooks as good as the day I bought it. Can’t beat that for?189.00!

It is too bad for the price you pay on the Traeger the quality control isn't better. I sure hope that improves in the future.

I just received my 3rd control panel from Traeger support due to the same cracking issue on my first two. And the only other person I know with a FlatRock has had the same thing happen. Traeger support has been great to work with and I receive a new panel quickly after I contact them…but it seems like this is a design issue with this part. The hard plastic that it is made from doesn’t seem to be able to handle the changes in temperature that a cook creates.
Hopefully they’ll re-design the part and replace it for those of us with the issue, similar to what they did with the original FlatRock cover (the newly re-designed cover is great and actually protects the grill as expected)

I’ve heard lots of complaints about this problem. I hope the get it rectified for you.

I'd say they missed the mark if this many control panels are CRACKING!!!??? I mean WOW
Made In Ch*** ?
