Magnetic Pellet Shoot Extender

This magnetic chute extender eliminates the mess of emptying the wood pellets from your Traeger grill. It is compatible with most Traeger pellet grills (Pro, Ironwood, and Timberline Series). No screws or mounting hardware is required.

It's available on my Etsy shop for $12.50 +shipping/tax.

Simple to use:
1) Place the extender around the bottom of the hopper cleanout door.
2) Hold your container under the extender.
3) Open the cleanout door and empty the pellets from the hopper.
4) Close the the cleanout door.

NOTE: To avoid damage from heat, the Pellet Shoot Extender should be removed and stored on the underside of the hopper (away from the main grill body) when not in use.

When I first got my grill, I used to remove the pellets after every cook. I would have loved to have the magnetic chute. For those who do drain unused pellets for storage or for those who like changing the type of pellet for every cook, this is a wonderful invention.

After a few months of use, I found that removing the pellets make little difference to my cooks. I just dump new pellets into the hopper on top of the old ones. While there might be some difference in smoke flavor, I have not found a huge difference. I even left pellets in the grill for several months over winter. However, I do live in Northern Illinois where the humidity is not as high as it might be in Florida or the Deep South.

While I won't be purchasing the magnetic chute, I suspect there are some members who will love to have one.

I came up with a fix by using a in-floor-forced-air heating vent. The 4"X8" rectangular part of it fits very well under the chute hole, and the round portion fits perfectly into a 'pellets/charcoal' bin. I sent the idea to Traeger...
