Help! Pallet Change & Purging the Auger

Hi i just got an Ironwood 885 and I see threads about changing the pallets from the hopper, I was wondering if anyone purges the pallets from the Auger as well, not sure it is necessary or how you would go about it if needed?

You don't have to purge if changing pellets as the auger tube will still be full. The only time I purge is when I vacuum out the burn pot I end up sucking the pellets out of the auger tube by a couple of inches then I will purge until I hear the pellets drop into the burn pot. Keep in mind that you don't have to purge it even in that case as it will purge itself but it will give you a message that ignition is taking longer then normal but it will purge itself and light.
