The auger on my old BBQ075 needs replacing. Unit was purchased in July 2001 - made in Oregon. Been a good unit; I've smoked and grilled a lot of meat. The Traeger support rep said the KIT0023 auger will fit. It doesn't. The tube is about 3/8" too short to make the pin holes line up, even if I leave off the plastic bushing. So I'm looking at rewelding the new auger with the old tube length; or shortening the bracket that holds the auger motor. Anybody have an easier solution, short of replacing the grill?

I also have an early 075 which I won't part with. I replaced the auger a few years back, but Traeger still had original parts. Just a thought, If I were in the same situation and I might be one of these days (unable to get the original part). I would align the auger inside the feeder can to keep it aligned. I would then take it to my friendly welder and have him put an 1\8 spot weld at the end of the auger, where the auger slides over the motor shaft. If in the future I had to change the motor or replace the auger again, all I have to do is put a grinding wheel in my Dremmel tool and grind off the weld. I know this is a hack but what other options do you have without spending some money on a new motor and mount. Just a thought, hope I didn't offend anyone with my backyard fix.
