I have an Ironwood with a different controller so I could not answer your question about the Fremont.
I would suggest that you calibrate your meat probe in an ice water bath before using it. The most common complaint about the Traeger probes is that they are useless due to inaccurate calibration. I plugged mine in for my first cook. Then I got another digital thermometer with four probes. I have not used the Traeger probe since that time.
A few degrees temperature difference in internal meat temp makes a big difference in the outcome. You need a thermometer you can trust. There are few people who trust the Traeger probe,
Although some folks spend big bucks on digital thermometers like Meater and Fireboard, that is not necessary. Since you purchased the Fremont unit, I suspect you are looking for a bargain. Spending half as much on a thermometer as you spent on the grill would not make a lot of sense. There are some reasonably priced meat probes available, but be sure they are calibrated properly.
If you decide to "blow out of this useless forum", I doubt anyone would miss your sarcasm. I have found the forum to be extremely useful. I have not seen a lot of posts concerning the Fremont grill. There are plenty, however, who have the Silverton model with the more advanced controller. There are other grills that have an ARC controller, so you might search for those threads.
