Welcome and I agree with other in checking out the link to suggested equipment. Getting an item here and there especially when it's on sale can save you money. Personally, I recommend the grill grates.

Thank you to everyone.
Would you recommend cast iron grates or aluminum?
Thanks
Personally, I’d spend the 80 or so bucks that GrillGrates cost on a FireBoard.Thank you to everyone.

I sear on cast iron in my gasser. I love to put a little tallow and get a good, hot sear. I guess I’m just not chasing grate lines on my steak and prefer the crust a good cast iron skillet provides.Personally, I’d spend the 80 or so bucks that GrillGrates cost on a FireBoard.
I use my smoker for smoking, and my gasser for grilling. IMO GrillGrates aren’t a necessity, but a good thermometer is
This is what I use. I like it better that cast iron.Traeger | GrillGrate
GrillGrate is your source for grilling better onTraeger. Shop GrillGrate for Traeger here.www.grillgrate.com

I strongly agree with this as well. FireBoard is transformational for pellet grilling. Like Murphy my searing is done on a cast iron griddle on my gas grill.Personally, I’d spend the 80 or so bucks that GrillGrates cost on a FireBoard.

No way to calibrate the Traeger RTD or thermocouple. Use your inkbird ambient probe (if it came with one) (leave it in the grill near the Traeger probe), and set the Traeger by that. Where did you have your ambient probe placed, when making your observations?I received my Inkbird last night and couldn't wait to check the temperature difference between the Traeger probe and the Inkbird.
I had a lot of trouble pairing it to my phone but just as I was ready to give up and send it back, it worked.
The grill seems to run 10-15 hotter that what I set it at. It didn't really matter what temp I was running. ie. I set it at 225 and the Inkbird registered 235. At 300 it was at 311 and at 500 it was reading 515.
Is there a way to calibrate the Traeger to match or do I just reduce all of my temps by 10-15 degrees?
Thanks
