Hi all,

I shared the results of a Christmas brisket cook in another thread, and someone mentioned using the leftover brisket for tacos. That sounds great, so we are going to try that tonight. This inspired 2 questions:

  • What other meal ideas would you have for brisket?
  • How would you warm it up? Lot's of recommendations out here to vacuum pack it, then thaw it and heat it in hot water. That's a great tip for the long term, but we aren't going to freeze it. We are a family of 5 with teenagers so we will be able to finish the leftovers in one meal. Slow in microwave along with a cup of water inside maybe?

If you make home made mac'n'cheese, brisket or pulled pork go very good in both that and the tacos.
On my frozen brisket, I have always presliced it in vacuum bags. To have just as a meal, a quick medium fry works well. You could also boil the vacuum bag while its sealed still to reheat as well.
