Does anyone keep the lower Rack on their Timberline 1300 in the lowest positionnall the time or do you move it up that minimal amount for certain cooks?

I’m assuming that the lowest position is to be used for searing...
I have a 6 burner gasser with a sear station that I use for that

That makes sense. I have one as well, though I'm using the Grill Grates as well.

Hope where you are is not too bad,weather-wise!

Thanks! The weather isn’t to terribly bad now, but still lots of folks without power, and water. I have electricity, but no water...

I do believe the lowest setting is for Searing, especially for those who are not using Grill Grates. This makes sense since it puts your protein closed to the heat source

I have an IW 885 that I got in December. I use the lowest rack since January when the weather got real cold.

I'm grilling at the highest heat possible most of the time and use the lowest rack position with grill grates. I raise the grate only for smoking ribs, etc.
