Hey everyone, I'm new to wood pellet and Traeger. A friend of mine has a pro series and highly recommended I look into Traeger when I expressed my frustrations during a phone convo about getting ready to buy my 5th grill in 10 years. I grill A LOT, but Shesh! 5 grillzzz in 10 years?!?!
Anywho, my friend's had his Traeger for 12 years, still loves it, and it's still going strong.
I've owned mine for 8 days and have cooked on it 3 times already. Today was my first biggie though. I smoked a pork butt and I couldn't be more pleased... Not just with the flavor and moistness, but the whole experience... Mixing up a concoction and then injecting it in the meat, prepping the grill, preheating, adjusting the settings, getting to walk away for an hour or more at a time, the smell of the meat during the last few hours... The smell of the pecan wood pellets the whole time... Swoon! I'm in love!
Very much looking forward to honing my skilzzz on this new grill, cooking all the meats, figuring out how to cook sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, and whatever else I haven't discovered yet.
Anyway, hello!

Welcome. 5 grills in ten years? You’ve been wearing them out, lol. Not to mention they don’t make grills like they used to. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of things to cook and a lot of help for these great folks on here.
Congrats on the butt looks great. Got to admit that’s the first one I’ve seen smoked in a cast iron skillet.

Welcome to the forum @Bear Grillzzz and congrats on the new Traeger. I've had my for 3 years and still love it! I wish I had more of an excuse to upgrade to the newest model, but can't justify it (yet). 😂
