I have Pro 34 that is about 7 or 8 years old. It stared throwing an LEr code and shutting down. I found that a mouse had chewed trough the temp prob wire, so I replaced that. It still shuts down. I changed all of the pellets for new, vacuumed out the fire pot, and ran fresh pellets all through the auger. It runs fine for 10 minutes and then shuts down with the LER code display.
The LED display reads "300" and blinks when I select the temp. Then after is stops flashing it only shows the last two digits. EX instead of "150" it reads " 50".
The new controller is $165. Do you think that the controller is the problem?

Cant't really advise directly but this link provides a sequence to follow that may help investigate further before committing to a new controller if you haven't already done so? From your post it does look like you have done at least some of the processes?

When you say the "temp probe", are you talking about the probe that you plug into the front and use to track your meat temp? Or did you replace the RTD probe? Any chance there is other wiring damage in a different spot? Are the auger, fan, etc. all functioning as expected? Does the RTD probe display the ambient temp of the grill during the 10 mins that it is running? Did you take the protective cover off of the tip of the RTD probe?
