ISO: a cool way to store my Traeger temperature probe

Those red deals are magnetic? I need one!

It's only $3 shipping, I just ordered 2 more

I have 5 of them, but I need 4 more. I added a couple more shorties to my 6 comp probes…I really like their colored probe rings as well. I ordered a couple of packs of those..

They had a special on some silicone hot pads, brushes, and other gadgets last week. I grabbed a few and should have grabbed a few more. The hot pads are great.

James, we seem to be on the same page! I just ordered 3 more spools and 2 packs of probe rings. I like to use different color spools for the types of probes. Currently, the ambient one is yellow, the two regular probes are green, the 4 competition long probes are red and the 2 shorties are blue.

My regular probes are in a kitchen drawer somewhere. I’ve never used them. I probably use the short comp more than anything, but at least as much as the longer ones.

I used different colored rings for the probes. Each short has a different color. Same with the long ones. I want to be able to tell which probe is in which port, and if all the long or the short were one color, I couldn’t do that. I had 4 probes going the other day, and when it was time to wrap, I replaced the ribs and had a heck of a time getting the correct probe in the correct rack. The rings solve that problem for me

If you noticed, I used the colors I specified for storing the probes in the spools. That way when I am starting a cooking session I can easily identify probe types by the colored spools. For the actual cook I plan to use the rings exactly like you!

I am new to this, so I haven't settled on what type of probe to use for which meat. Eventually I may also decide that I don't need the regular probes, but I am not there yet.
