Just got a fantastic Ranger, it's amazing. However, it cooks at 50° hotter than the set temperature all the time. Any suggestions on where to go with this?

LOL, that's what I've been doing, but it will only set to 165, at that, it's 240.Lower the temp 50 degrees below your target.![]()
So then, how do I smoke salmon at 165?Cook at 240 then. BBQ is a dance between time and temp. If the temp is a bit more than another, it will simply cook a little faster. It’s just a variable in a process full of other variables. Don’t let it consume you or discourage you in any way. It’s no big deal, I promise. Have you verified the actual grid temp with an independent probe? If you want you can also contact customer service. Good luck.
