I have a Texas model grill, approx 9-10 years old. I will start it on smoke and it will appear to run correctly and go out 10 minutes later and no heat. I have to restart it. My question is can I replace the controller and auger with the new wifire system? I don't really want to buy a new one. I like this one.

Are you sure your fire box and igniter are good? My fire used to go out and I found my firebox was full of decay with corrosion and scaling after only one season. Replacing these items with a heavy gauge stainless steel firebox and new igniter did the trick.

Traeger does not sell it's WiFire controller as a part. You would need to call them and see what controller you might be able to get... but Smauser has a good point and you should check everything in that area before thinking a controller will solve this....

My firebox was only 1 year old and had serious flakes of rust coming off it, needed cleaning bad IMO.... yours is probably really clogged and rusted if you have never checked or replaced it.

Do as above, if still an issue. It could be the rtd, and it is cheap to replace.
