Charcoal Flavor?

I just got my 54" Texas Elite and i had a question. Does anyone know if you can do anything to get a charcoal flavor and not just the wood smoke flavor?

I can't see why you couldn't put charcoal in one of those contraptions made for smoking and light it up. I wonder what would happen if you stuck a briquette in the pot.

Thanks! I found some pellets made of charcoal and will have them in a week or so, i'll let you all know how it goes. If they work, Traeger should make them.
