can I replace my BAC236 controller with an upgrade

I have a 2013 controller that I think has bit the dust. It turns on for 1 second and quits. The fuse is good . I pulled the auger and the motor runs fine. I'm wondering since I have to replace it can I install an upgraded controller? Just wondering .. -K
