For those of us north of the border, meat is like gold in price.
If you have a Save-On Foods close to you, they have AAA Brisket on sale for $5.99/lb
Last year, that was 3.99. But the cheapest I have seen it before this sale was $7.99/lb this year.
Thought I'd mention it. If you have a grinder, you won't find ground beef that cheap either

That may have been a Van/Vic local sale. Didn't see it here in Cowtown (supposedly the beef capital of Canader.)

That was May 7-13th
My sister is in Calgary and grabbed one, so they did have them at one of their stores for that price

My latest mini brisket was from ALDIs, kind of the same type of store

Pre packaged with heavy pepper rub

about $25 for 3.5#, so $7/per I guess... not much difference

I just came from Costco; price checked their briskets: $8.30/lb, smallest I saw was 12.6 lb. My local specialty butcher carries 15-16 lb triple A (Angus) for $8.40/lb

It's to the point, you have to buy what you can afford. There is nothing cheap about BBQ anymore

If you like beef, you have to be prepared to pay the big bucks. However, pork is still reasonable. In the States, Aldi sells a half pork loin for $2.09/lb.
