We found pellets from Home Depot that are apple mash. They are an excellent flavor, not too strong smoke. Using them the first time this morning on 4 - 10lb butts at 28 degrees outside temp,

I've never heard of apple mash pellets. Who makes them?

CookinPellet:

Description

This is the worlds first pellet infused with Apple Mash and Hard Maple.

We get apple fruit mash and infuse it with our proprietary process to make a lightly sweet subtle smoke flavor.

Great with light flavor foods like chicken, pork, muffins and cold smoked dishes also.

This is made to work best between 180-350 degrees. Remember low temps gets best flavor!

No oak or alder filler.

* 100% of what we say it is NO Filler. * Low moisture * Low Fine, dust. * Mid-High BTU

Our Pellets are 100% of the wood named! We don’t add filler or soft woods like others do. Some companies use 80% Oak or Alder, a cheaper filler wood mixed into the wood you are buying! Ask if it is 100%!

Used them a few times for pork, chicken and fish, I like them. :)

Interesting description. It sounds like the pellets are maple wood flavored with apple mash. That is a departure from their 100% wood. Nevertheless, I am glad it produces a flavorful cook.
