Pulling out the shop vac every time I need to clean the ashes is becoming a drag. Thinking about getting a small (inexpensive) vacuum I can keep out in the plastic tub where I store my pellets. I would imagine even the HD Bucket Vacuum would work. Any (big box or Amazon) suggestions?

Thanks,

I have it, works just fine. Buy the 2.5 gal bucket instead of the 5 gal and it becomes pretty damn handy.

Yes, I have it as well with a 3.5 gallon bucket and I store in the patio close to the Traeger. Works very well for ash collection.

I too just use this little cheap one. The only downside is the pellet dust is so fine it clogs the filter up quick so I I just use it without it, I keep the discharge side aimed out away from me.

I use a small Craftsman vacuum I got many years ago. However, Home Depot sells a Stinger 2.5 gallon vacuum that is similar in design. The cost is $40. Since the grills produce only a small amount of dust, you can go for many weeks before the bin needs cleaning.

BTW: I understand that the original Shop Vac is going out of business.

+1 for the small Craftsman vac. However, down here in humid Florida, I use my vac to not only clean up ashes but to vacuum all remaining pellets out of the auger tunnel after each cook. Even though I store my Pro34 in a shed, the moisture does affect the pellets if I leave them in the Traeger and they don't want to burn properly.

Since the Traeger is in the back yard, I suspect the vacuumed ash dust will find its way into the garden and/or planters. Thanks!

I love my Milwaukee rechargeable portable shop vac. It doesn't have to be plugged in every time I use it. Works great on my Solo fire pit as well.

I use the small $40 shop vac from Harbor Freight. Works good enough for the Traeger and is very easy to carry, use and store..

I’ve got a Dewalt 20v Max but I’m not about to suck up pellet dust, it’s about like drywall dust, it’ll eventually ruin a shop vac. Filters are too pricey also.

The nice thing about the bucket head is that I found filters on the bay that fit for about a buck each.

I know, it doesn’t mention the buckethead but they fit. I’m using them
