My sis n I couldn’t eat enough of it. It has a unique taste. If time make it tonight or in the morning. Spose to be BETTER if made ahead of time.

made mine at midnight last night... gonna sit all day till supper.. ;)

right now it's a little strong in the vinegar area, but the true test will be tonight

Brings back some memories! Lived near Decatur, Alabama where Gibson is located for 8 years in the 1990's. That's where I got bitten first by the barbecue bug. Their chicken was to die for and always served with the white sauce which they practically invented.

I don’t know how it’s supposed to taste, but I like it. I personally thought it was gonna have more heat.

I'm a huge fan of the white sauce that Mission BBQ serves. Funny thing is, I am an Auburn University graduate (War Eagle!) from the state of Alabama, and I never heard of Alabama White sauce when I lived there. Fast forward 25 years and I am living in Virginia and I find Mission BBQ and their white sauce. Never heard of it, but I tried it and LOVED it. But now when I vacation in Alabama, and I try the local Alabama White sauce, it doesn't taste like Mission BBQ's. I don't know what Mission BBQ does different from the recipe posted here, but I sure would like that recipe. I guess I was ruined by having Mission BBQ's first! *sigh*

I'm going to give this recipe a shot though!

Wife is from Valley. We both graduated in 92. I'm from everywhere. My dad was in the Navy and we moved all the time. But right now I am in Virginia Beach/Norfolk Virginia.
We vacation in AL every year. Just got back from two weeks in Huntsville/Lake Guntersville.

You should visit Gibson BBQ next time you are there. Not all the imitators who have sprung up, but the original one in Decatur:
