Welcome to the latest addition of Traeger Forums dedicated to the new 2022+ Timberline Grill series.

Who's planning on getting one?

Since my T1300 is just over a year old, and the XL is closing in on $5,000 Canadian, I think I'll pass. It's got some nice features, though.

This is a fairly good walk through on assembly and features on the new Timberline XL. Shows pairing the probes, menu options/use and app interface

I’m looking at it but may wait until they throw in some stuff to move product. They have checked the boxes on improvements with my Ironwood but my grill is still working great. I did like the 10 year warranty though. Maybe in a few months.

Not a bad review. I would have preferred someone with some pellet grill experience, but getting a newbie's thoughts on it isn't horrible.

One thing that bothered me a bit is the length of time to assemble it. It took 2 guys 2 hours? I know that some of the videos I watched for the Timberline had that kind of timeline, but I put mine together by myself in 32 minutes (I recorded it to share a time lapse video). While there seem to be more components in the XL, it looks like it is quite simple to do - easier than the T1300 anyway. Anyone else??

I bought my T1300 Nov 2020 and used it maybe 30 times. If I could sell it around what I paid, should I upgrade?

I’m hard pressed to think that this grill offers a 3x improvement over my existing Ironwood. The probe options are nice but easily and certainly less expensively integrated into my existing cook setup. I can’t believe that they’re charging extra for something like a folding front shelf on a premium product like this.

That said, the induction burner is a very cool addition but again, I can probably DIY a solution onto my existing grill and get most of the benefit for a fraction of the cost.

Bottom line - even if I’d never bought my Ironwood I don’t think I’d be shopping in this price bracket for a pellet smoker.

I have to say after watching a few videos the new treagar is pretty awesome. The side induction use for searing is a game changer and I think I can eliminate the Weber Propane Grill and Treagar and go down to one.

That is my though as well. The price just too high. Imo, they should have priced it something like this:

timberline xl $3800 -> $3000
timberline $3500 -> $2800
timberline 1300 $2300
timberline 850 $2100

This would have the ability to reach more potential users. Paying for 4k after it's all set and done without it being a full stainless steel all around is not going to be worth it.
