Woodridge pro
Hello, I am a long time Traeger owner. I bought the Woodridge Pro in February 2025. Since day one I have had problems with the grill. The grill shuts off mid cook, the grill shows error codes 01 and 06. The grill goes through twice as many pellets as other wood grills, it takes 20-30 minutes to come to temperature, the control buttons rarely work and sometimes the only way to shut down the grill is to manually turn it off. The answer Traeger gives is it’s mostly normal with this brand new, fix everything grill. Traeger also puts me on hold for up to two hours trying to diagnose the problem(s). I’m not a mechanic, I shouldn’t have to be taking a five month old grill apart. I have asked for my money back but that is never an option. This is the second grill I have had problems with from Traeger. I’m not sure why I fell for the latest, greatest crap Traeger is spewing about this new grill. Traeger is sending me a new motherboard but really, it’s 5 months old!?!? Ready to switch to Recteq or something else

Since day one I have had problems with the grill.

To my mind Traeger should offer either a replacement or a money back guarantee if a unit fails to work straight out of the box.
Such events represent very poor quality control notwithstanding everything from cars to washing machines have the occasional Friday afternoon lemon!

Hope you get this sorted without too much further ado. 🤞

Absolutely what I said to CS. Why should I have to take the grill apart and fix it? Yes, they are sending me parts, but it shouldn’t be like this. I will see what happens when I get the new motherboard

Where did you buy it from? Can you still return it?

No I can’t return the grill. Once it’s out the door of the store they are done with it.

If you have an ACE hardware near you, chekc with Traeger to see if they will pay a serviceman from ACE to repair the grill. ACE is a premier Traeger partner and is authorized to do warranty repairs.

Disturbing news for someone considering purchasing a Woodridge Pellet Grill. I purchased the Traeger I have now sometime mid 2000s and it has operated flawlessly with one exception, the original control panel went tits up about six years ago and I had to purchase a replacement which was an upgrade to the control panels used in the later iterations. I now have accumulated a large capacity smoker, the Traeger and a Weber Genesis 335 grill and plan to consolidate to a single smoker grill; the Woodridge Pellet Grill. So, to read about Carl's experience makes me wonder if buyers of this new Woodridge Series art "beta" testers; the last thing I want to be. So I am wondering if experiences like Carl's are limited to a small population of Woodridge buyers or if there are more than a few that have shared Carl's experience.

i feel ya coming from a gmg since first gen what a huge mistake buying the Woodridge pro was smoked two chickens first cook tasted exactley like rotisserie flavor no smoke flavor at all had supper smoke on 35 min before raising Temp, smoked ribs 6 hrs smoked pork shoulder 9 hrs I'm pissed that i was stupid enough to buy this garbage

Well Traeger sent a brand new motherboard for the brand new grill. I replaced the motherboard and once again completely cleaned the grill. On the very first cook the grill showed error codes 01 and 06 again. The grill was set at 300 for my cook and it went as high as 385 by itself. The grill then shut down due to high heat. The second cook was exactly the same errors as cook number one. I will call CS and see what they have to say now about this piece of junk. I want my money back. This grill doesn’t work

If unsure buy it through Costco, they will take it back regardless. Lemon is a lemon.

Unfortunately I bought the same piece of junk myself. The grill is only a few months old and the temperature control is awful, the temp takes off on its own, and takes half an hour to get to temperature. I wish I would have kept my old Texas model! Shopping for a new pellet grill - I'm done with Traeger.

OMG,
Traeger Woodridge Pro is my first entry into pellet grill cooking and like some of you I have had some issues with initial ignition. Last weekend I had seasoned a pork shoulder with intentions of an overnight 225 degree cook as I had done with a brisket om a previous weekend, did not happen. Wouldn't ignite and started giving 06 error code.
Next morning, i took out motherboard ensured that temp sensor wires were not damaged. I cleaned temp sensor, vacumed firepot and ensured that holes at bottom were clear. Unit fired up and maintained temp for next eight hours.
This was not first time that there were issues with ignition.
Thinking of changing ignitor, temp sensor and maybe fire pot, but that could be a waste if all problems can be attributed to faulty motherboard.

I should have found one of these forums before I got into my woodridge elite. The only saving grace it has is the ease of cleaning compared to my Timberline XL. Every other thing about it is POS. Hard to light ... forever to heat up ... run away temps more often than not ... inconsistent temps across the grill ... I have ruined more good meat on this thing than I should have and I must be stupid because I keep trying. What is it they say about the definition of insanity ... repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting different results.
