On my 3rd cook I experienced wild temperature swings on my Ironwood XL. Setting temperature at 270 degrees I saw variations from 185 to 500 degrees. Traeger customer service said I failed to perform the proper shutdown procedure, causing this issue. So I shut down correctly. We will see what happens. Anybody experience this? Sound plausible? Thanks!

Always shutdown the grill properly.

Clean the grill periodically as needed...not necessarily when the grill tells you to.

I always prime the auger before igniting the grill. I also ignite the grill with the door opened, even though Traeger advises ingiting with the door closed. I have yet to have a failure, but that does not mean I won't.
