Bronson 20
Hello everyone:

Will a 14 pound turkey fit on my Bronson 20? The book says 10-12 pounds but this was the smallest one I could find. Any words of advice as to cooking time and temp? I was thinking of running it on the smoke setting for a couple of hours then finish at 350 or thereabouts until it tests done. I plan on maple pellets and the Traeger rub for pork and poultry. I don't want a heavy smoke flavor - but more than a hint, Will be cooking it trussed but not stuffed. If it's too big, I probably could spatckcock it, unless there's a better solution, other than cooking it in the indoor oven :-) I don't need to brine it because it has been injected with broth, It's a Honeysuckle, I believe. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Here's a handy gadget: https://www.vinsic.com/products/vinsic-rechargeable-wireless-bbq-thermometer.

Best regards,

Jaina

Smoke for a few hours and then finishing at 350 should do the trick. If you wanted to cook it from beginning to end at the same temp, I'd prob do something closer to 300 so it didn't dry out.

Spatchcock is a good plan b if it doesn't fit whole.

Get a bag of Traeger turkey pellets it includes the brine and the rub....
lots of positive reviews...
